Tomasz Rzepa

Professional experience

Tomasz is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw and the faculty of Finance and Banking at the Warsaw School of Economics. He also graduated from the School of American Law run by University of Florida.

His professional experience includes several years of work experience in one of the so-called Big-Four companies, where he worked as consultant, manager, and in 2016-2019 as its partner and director responsible for tax and legal advice for the banking and financial sector. At that time, he advised many large Polish companies as well as international groups, including, in particular, listed companies, banks, and insurance companies. Tomasz also served as an advisor to industry organizations of entrepreneurs (banks, insurance companies, investment fund managers, brokerage houses, insurance brokers and others), participating among others in giving opinions on draft legal acts, developing the position of financial industry in relations to the most important tax problems and conducting trainings.

From 2020, Tomasz, as a partner, joined the JS Doradcy team.

Specializations

During his career Tomasz dealt with comprehensive advising in the field of CIT, PIT, VAT, CLT, bank tax, local taxes and fees as well as issues related to international taxes.

As part of his experience, he conducted numerous tax proceedings, was a representative during tax audits, and participated in numerous proceedings before administrative courts. Tomasz also dealt with advising in the field of practical limitation of the risk of penal-fiscal liability of persons responsible for financial matters.

Tomasz also implemented tax reliefs related to investments made by many clients, including a relief for new technologies and for research and development works.

During his career, he carried out a number of projects implementing the FATCA / CRS regulation (in over 200 financial institutions) and in the field of implementing anti-money laundering procedures (AML).

Tomasz advised entrepreneurs operating in many industries, specializing at the same time in consulting for the financial industry (banks, insurers, funds, leasing, brokerage houses, loan institutions).

Tomasz also dealt with advising for local government units (including ongoing VAT advisory, centralization of VAT settlements, tax settlement of local government investments, proceedings to recover subsidies on current tasks).
